Upcoming: Orly Mega Pixel FX

Happy Saturday polished pretties!! I hope everyone is having a good weekend thus far and hopefully it's not snowing where you are. I happen to be sitting in the middle of snowstorm Nemo. (Why they named it Nemo is beyond me! LOL)

Quick post for you today. Here's an ad for the upcoming Orly collection and as far as I can tell, it looks like the collection goes on sale in March.

The only colors that look interesting to me are the Aqua Pixel, Black Pixel, and Pink Pixel. Are you going to be picking up any of these when they come out or are you going to wait for swatches?

Butter London Fairy Cake

Happy Wednesday polished pretties!! I'm doing a very quick entry as I have to go to school and pick up the new OPI collection that comes out today, so excuse the briefness of this entry.

Anyway, as requested, Fairy Cake was the one that people wanted to see first and I aim to please! This polish is from Butter London and it is gorgeous!!

Butter London Nail Mail

Happy Friday eve!! (Yes, I know it's Thursday, but it's the eve of Friday. I have to say that since every person that I say Friday eve to feel the need to say it's Thursday.) *face palm*

Anyway, I have a very quick post for you today. I received my first of two packages of nail mail that I'm expecting this week and boy, are they stunners! I've added four more Butter London polishes to my collection and I'm having a serious problem deciding which to paint on my nails first.

From L to R: Fairy Cake, Fiddlesticks, Gobsmacked, and British Racing Green
I swatched them on my nail swatches and they all look gorgeous. Fiddlesticks and British Racing Green look like one coaters! (Told you it was a quick post!)

Color Club Blue Heaven

Happy Wednesday polished pretties!! Hope everyone is having a good week so far, and Friday can't come soon enough it seems!

Today I'm showing you a polish from my favorite collection that came out last year. The polish I have today is Blue Heaven from the Color Club Holo Hues collection that came out in the fall of 2012. It seems like this collection didn't get any coverage in the nail blogs that I saw this past fall, which confuses me to no end. The best part about the collection is that Color Club is coming out with a second set of Holos. I don't know of an official release date, but they have sent out polish to various distributors. I've seen the swatches of the new collection and they look crazy amazing!! I hope polish companies keep it coming with the holos. Anyway, the coverage on this polish is amazing and it's HOLO. Like super crazy amazing gorgeous insane holo.

Quick Update!

Happy end of the week!! It doesn't feel like a real Friday for me since I have to work tomorrow, but I have off on Wednesday, so I say that evens it out, no? Anyway, today I have a very quick and not to polish related post for you.

I have a reoccurring problem once my nails get to a certain length: they split and break. I let them grow out to this length because I like how they look (I'd actually like for them to get longer, but I'll take what I can get.) Two of my nails split, so I had to file everything back down to nub status. I won't be swatching until midweek next week when they're a bit less nubby.

My shorties! (And a chipped polish job *drama*)
I also thought I would show how I store my swatches. (My Melmer where I store my polish is a mess right now, otherwise I would show that as well.) I almost always take my swatches with me when I go polish shopping since I don't want to wind up with dupes if I can avoid it. I'm sure I get some strange looks when I whip out 7 swatches of very similar colors in the store when I buy polish, but I'm in too much of a polish haze to notice.

As you can see, I sort them by color (pinks,  blues, purples, etc) and I actually have them on loose binder rings. I did this because when I would pick out my swatches to go shopping with, it would be a pain to unscrew the nut and slide all the swatches off the bar to get to the one I need. I would sometimes misplace the nut and spend twenty minutes looking for it. With this way, I can just unhook it where I need to and get the swatches much faster.

I also have each individual color labeled on the swatch. I originally had written it in Sharpie marker, but I noticed that after a while, the marker would rub off. Now I print labels for each one and then just trim a little excess off the top of the label so it doesn't hang over.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!! Hopefully it's warmer than where I am in freezing NJ!

XOXO Jessica

OPI Mariah Carey The Impossible

Happy hump day!! Halfway to the weekend, unless you work on Saturday (like me). Plus I start my new semester of college today, so overall, not a good Wednesday for me. Anyway, I'll be doing some swatching later on today, so I'll have some more colors to show you all.

Today I have the final Liquid Sand color from the Mariah Carey collection. This polish is a super bright red with scattered hex and star glitter. I love shade of red that they picked for this color. Plus, the fact that they added some star glitter, which I've never seen in a polish before, just adds to the awesomeness of this polish. I did notice that the red coloring they used for the stars was coming off! I'm not quite sure if it was the polish that did that, or it was the glitter itself. My own complaint with this polish is that it didn't dry to the awesome matte-ness of Got Your Number, but it wasn't nearly as shiny as Stay the Night. Still a beautiful polish nonetheless.

OPI Mariah Carey Got Your Number

Happy Friday, polished pretties!! So happy the weekend is here! I have off from work and it looks like the weather should be cooperating with me so I'm going to be swatching like a mad woman. Hope everyone has a good and relaxing weekend.

Today I have the third of the four Liquid Sand polishes from the Mariah Carey OPI collection. The name of this polish is Got Your Number and it's a lightish blue with some scattered holo (!!) thrown in there. O. M. G. This was by far my favorite out of the Liquid Sand that we got from this collection. It dried to a matte sandy finish and the holo that was in the polish just made it that much more awesome. It definitely made up for the not-quite-as-awesome Stay the Night.

OPI Mariah Carey Stay the Night

Happy Wednesday, polished pretties!! We're halfway to the weekend (hooray!!) and I'm definitely ready to be done with this week. Shameless plug time: We now have a twitter account! If you'd like to follow us on twitter, we're @VarnishInMyVein (I couldn't include the 's' at the end *drama* LOL). Don't forget to like us on Facebook as well! Back to your regularly scheduled post...

The polish I'm bringing to you today is another one of the liquid sand colors from the OPI Mariah Carey collection. The name of this polish is Stay the Night and it's a black matte with pink glitter throughout. When I first saw the pictures of this color, I was immediately excited to get my hands on it since black and pink are my favorite color combo. However, when I put the polish on, it didn't quite live up to the awesomeness I was expecting.

SquareHue January 2013 Arctic Collection

Hello my polish pretties!! I hope everyone is having a good Monday, or at least a better Monday than me!

Anyway, today I have the January collection from SquareHue. If you don't know what SquareHue is, it's a monthly nail polish subscription service. I was actually looking for something like this, but I only came across ones that were make-up. I'm not as big of a make-up person as I am nail polish, so those to me would be a bit of a waste of money. If you would like to learn more about the SquareHue program, or to sign up go to www.squarehue.com

Read on for the swatches and reviews of the colors!
