OPI Mariah Carey Stay the Night

Happy Wednesday, polished pretties!! We're halfway to the weekend (hooray!!) and I'm definitely ready to be done with this week. Shameless plug time: We now have a twitter account! If you'd like to follow us on twitter, we're @VarnishInMyVein (I couldn't include the 's' at the end *drama* LOL). Don't forget to like us on Facebook as well! Back to your regularly scheduled post...

The polish I'm bringing to you today is another one of the liquid sand colors from the OPI Mariah Carey collection. The name of this polish is Stay the Night and it's a black matte with pink glitter throughout. When I first saw the pictures of this color, I was immediately excited to get my hands on it since black and pink are my favorite color combo. However, when I put the polish on, it didn't quite live up to the awesomeness I was expecting.

I'm not sure if the way I applied the polish had anything to do with it, but this dried very shiny. Maybe it was because I didn't wait long enough in-between coats for it to get the real sand type of effect? I'll definitely have to take my time the next time I apply this and see how it goes. Anyway, on to pictures of the polish! (All photos were taken in natural light.)

Stay the Night with no top coat
Stay the Night with two coats of top coat
The top coat that I used was CND Super Shiney. I definitely prefer this polish with top coat instead of without, but that's just personal preference. As far as the formula of the polish, it was on the sheer side on the first coat, but became opaque on the second. I think that's to be expected with any kind of black polish with glitter in it.

Overall, I'm definitely glad that I bought it, but it won't be the first color I'll grab when I go to the liquid sand polishes. Do you think you'll be picking up this shade of Liquid Sand?

XOXO Jessica

  1. I'm not sure what I think of the liquid sands yet. I have this one and I'm looking forward to trying it out. :-)

    1. You'll have to let me know how you like it. Hopefully, you'll have a little better success with it than me! Jessica
